What we like
(Yes sorry, it's another one of those "our favourite
sites" lists)
Interesting Internet-based information
- Newspapers: For me The
Times just pips the others due to its content like The Interface section.
- IT Journals: There are many to choose
here but for general reading I like Computer
Weekly and Byte.
- Search engine: I'm getting better search
results at present using the
HotBot search engine than with Lycos, Alta-Vista or Webcrawler. But
who knows what's in development for next week....
- News in audio: On-the-hour news
headlines from IRN (requires Real Audio player - see Interesting software
below).
- Local Radio: Capital
Radio in London provides a good example of how to broaden it's radio
coverage in a global sense.
- Secondhand Cars: It's car replacement
time again, so I'm window shopping in Autotrader
for a used car.
Interesting Internet-based software
- Real audio and Streamworks
providing audio and video without having to wait for ages to have the files
downloaded.
- CU-SeeMe audio, video & whiteboard
software over Internet.
- Worlds Chat providing interesting
virtual meeting places for ones avatar.
- Web Whacker enabling downloads of
pages for viewing later off-line.
- Internet
Assistants for Office95 (sorry about this one, this list is really
getting boring now).
